Brief Description

Run the only "mountain" on Florida's beautiful Gulf Coast! Blue Mountain Beach that is! Both the 1/2 marathon and 10K are run over Florida's Scenic 30A which splits sugar-white sand beaches and rare coastal dune lakes. Enjoy the beachside villages of Blue Mountain Beach, Grayton, and Seaside along the way. A one of a kind course!

Run Blue Mountain Beach

Both the 1/2 marathon and 10K begin and end at Florida's only "mountain" on the Gulf Coast....Blue Mountain Beach. Race down the Scenic Highway 30A between sugar sand beaches and rare dune lakes from Blue Mountain Beach through the cool beach town of Grayton Beach. Those running the 1/2 marathon will take in Seaside and Watercolor before returning to finish on the "mountain." There is no better time to be on 30A and at the beach than the Fall!

Off to the Races

Both races start at 7:00 a.m. The races will start at Blue Mountain Beach on Blue Mountain Road, go left on Blue Lake Rd, right on 30A, right on Defuniak St to Grayton Beach...the 10K heads back here. The 1/2 marathon continues through Grayton, left on Holtz, left on Banfill, left on Lydia Ave, right on Defuniak, right on 30A, to Seaside where the runners run the square then retrace their steps back to the finish. Though this is Florida, you'll find that this course rolls enough to keep it fun.

1/2 Marathon Race Fees

1/2 Marathon Fees: $50.00 through September 17; $60.00 Sept 18-Oct 1; $70.00 Oct 2-Oct 10; $80.00 Oct 11-Oct 14; and, $90.00 Oct 15 and race morning if spaces remain available (paper application only on these dates).

10K Fees

10K Fees: $30.00 through September 17; $40.00 Sept 18-Oct 10; $45.00 Oct 11-Oct 14; and, $55.00 Oct 15 and race morning if spaces remain available (paper application only on these dates).

Race Limits/Race Timing

The combined number of runners for the 1/2 marathon and 10K is 1500. Runners will be chip/electronically timed.

Hoodies for the first 50 registered in 1/2

The first 50 registered in the 1/2 marathon will receive hoodies!!

Finishers Awards

All finishers in the 10K and 1/2 marathon will receive finishers awards.

Overall and Age Group Awards

Awards will be given to the top 3 overall female and male runners, the top Masters (over 40 years old) male and female, the top Grandmasters (over 50 years old) male and female, and the top 3 females and males in each age group. Age groups begin at 14 and under, 15-19 and are 5 year increments thereafter.

Race Shirts

Race shirts will be technical shirts. There will be different shirts for the 1/2 marathon and 10K. Each person registered before September 25, 2011 will receive a race shirt. We do not guarantee sizes or availability of shirts for those registering after September 25 so please register early!!!

Packet Pick- Up & Race Day Registration

Race day packet pick up will be at the Blue Mountain Beach access parking lot from 5:45 am until 6:45 am. Pre-race day packet pick up location and time will be announced so please check back soon! Race day registration will be available from 5:45-6:30 a.m. assuming spots remain available.

Accommodations

We are in the process of lining up accommodations for our runners so please check back. We'll e-mail those registered as well as soon as this is firmed up.

We'll be holding a post race party with food, beverages, and more at Blue Mountain Beach following the races. The awards ceremonies will begin as soon as practical/possible following each race. We reserve the right to begin the awards ceremonies before each race is completed. Don't miss the post race festivities!!
