Run the only "mountain" on Florida's beautiful Gulf Coast! Blue Mountain Beach that is! Both the 1/2 marathon and 10K are run over Florida's Scenic 30A which splits sugar-white sand beaches and rare coastal dune lakes. Enjoy the beachside villages of Blue Mountain Beach, Grayton, and Seaside before and after the races. A one of a kind course!
Both the 1/2 marathon and 10K begin and end at Florida's only "mountain" on the Gulf Coast....Blue Mountain Beach. Race down the Scenic Highway 30A between sugar sand beaches and rare dune lakes from Blue Mountain Beach through the cool beach town of Grayton Beach. Those running the 1/2 marathon will turn around at Watercolor before returning to finish on the "mountain." There is no better time to be on 30A and at the beach than the Fall!
The 1/2 marathon will start at 7:00 a.m. with the 10K starting at 7:05 am. The races will start approximately 1.4 miles north of Blue Mountain Beach on Gulfview Heights at 30A (next to Goatfeathers Restaurant), run south (east) on 30A, turn right on Blue Mt. Beach Road, go left on Blue Lake Rd, right on 30A (recreational path at this point), right on Defuniak St to Grayton Beach. The 1/2 marathon continues through Grayton, left on Holtz, left on Banfill, left on Lydia Ave, right on Defuniak, right on 30A, to just at the Watercolor entrance where the runners turn around and then retrace their steps back to the finish at Blue Mt. Beach. Though this is Florida, you'll find that this course rolls enough to keep it fun. Note that the 10K is out and back as well, following the same course but turning around and heading back just before reaching the Grayton Beach area. Both races end on Blue Mountain Beach Road near the 30A intersection!
1/2 Marathon Fees: $80.00 through September 29; $90.00 Sept 30-through race morning if spaces remain available (paper application only on Oct 11, 12 & 13).
10K Fees: $45.00 through September 29; $55.00 Sept 30-through race morning if spaces remain available (paper application only on Oct 11-13).
Fees: $95.00 through September 29; $105.00 Sept 30 through 30A 5K race morning if spaces remain available (paper application only on Oct 11 & 12).
Fees: $75.00 through September 29; $85.00 Sept 30 through 30A 5K race morning if spaces remain available (paper application only on Oct 11 & 12)
The combined number of runners for the 1/2 marathon and 10K is 1500. Runners will be chip/electronically timed.
All finishers in the 10K and 1/2 marathon will receive finishers awards.
Awards will be given to the top 3 overall female and male runners, the top Masters (over 40 years old) male and female, the top Grandmasters (over 50 years old) male and female, and the top 3 females and males in each age group. Age groups begin at 14 and under, 15-19 and are 5 year increments thereafter.
Race shirts will be one of a kind shirts. Each person registered before September 30, 2013 will receive a race shirt. We do not guarantee sizes or availability of shirts for those registering after September 30 so please register early!!!
30A 5K & Kids race: Pre-race only from 6:45-7:45 am Nick's Restaurant, 2210 West Highway 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, FL (across from Big Daddy's Bikes)
Blue Mt Beach 1/2 Marathon & 10K: 2:00-7:00 pm at Nick's Restaurant, 2210 West Highway 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, FL;
and, pre-race at Nick's from 6:00-6:45 am.
Blue Mt Man/Woman & Sand Dune Man/Woman: If you are pre-registered for either of these, you may pick up your race packet for the 1/2 marathon or 10K immediately following the 30A 5K. No other packets will be available that morning.
Due to it being a “holiday weekend” all of the hotels that we contacted for a special race rate were slow to respond to our request…..couldn’t imagine that Columbus Day created that much traffic…Be that as it may, the Candlewood Inn (850-337-3770) and Comfort Inn (850-654-8611) are within 20-30 min of the race site and have decent rates.
Post Race Party and Awards Ceremony

The awards ceremonies will begin as soon as practical/possible following each race. We reserve the right to begin the awards ceremonies before each race is completed. Don't miss the post race festivities!!
